The news of the ‘Brangelina’ split broke a million hearts worldwide. For the longest time, veteran actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had the strongest shippers worldwide and when they came together after acting together in the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the world celebrated.
But when the couple broke up/divorced after years of marriage, there was a lot of talk about the ensuing chaos because of their uber-celebrity status. Their lives were gone over by the media with a fine lens and their professional lives were impacted too.
Jolie, whose claim to fame was playing the titular character in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2002, has been absent from the silver screen ever since the fateful event.

There is no news of her starring in any other movie that will be released soon but her iMDB page shows that her next release won’t be before 2020.
Jolie, the once estranged daughter of actor Jon Voight, began her acting career in a low-budget production Cyborg 2 in 1993 but snagged her first lead role in Hackers in 1995.
She then went on to do critically acclaimed movies George Wallace (1997), Gia (1998) and even won an Oscar for her supporting role in the movie Girl, Interrupted (1999).
Though she has been a part of many a commercially successful films like Salt, Wanted and Lara Croft 2, her biggest commercial success to date is the Disney film ‘Maleficent’ that was released in 2014.
She is touted to return in Maleficent 2 that will be released in 2020.
Jolie may be out of sight on film but she is never out of mind. Her name is synonymous with a her humanitarian work and her association to the United Nations.
She is currently a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commission For Refugees and was last pictured visiting Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh in February 2019.
Besides her work for the United Nations,
She makes it a point to visit multiple war torn areas and visits multiple refugee camps to shed light on the situation on ground.
Her latest directorial venture ‘First They Killed My Father’ is based on a true story and is set in Cambodia and is based on the highly volatile Khmer Rouge era in the country.
She now makes movies that are close to her heart and shed light on humanitarian crisis in the world as well.
Owing to her position in the American entertainment industry, she is said to be one of the most influential celebrities across the globe and is one of the most talked about celebrities in the world as well.
