CBD has been tagged the miracle cure for pain, insomnia, anxiety and so much all. People are looking for the best place to buy CBD online, online CBD buying guides, etc. Even if the use of CBD is legal in many places, there is still little research in the area. One of the most recent studies in the field has revealed that, contrary to popular opinion, cannabis doesn’t provide any form of pain relief for cancer patients.
The research which was published by BBJ showed that its common for people with cancer to smoke weed or use CBD oil to boost appetite and relieve pain. The new study was a review of six previous studies that were conducted in Europe and the United Kingdom. Results from about 1,500 patients were analyzed and it compared pain levels while they were using cannabis and while the control group was on a placebo. At the end of the study, there was no change in the level of pain the patients using cannabis felt compared to those who took the placebo.
The researchers concluded that cannabinoids don’t play any significant role in relieving pain in cancer patients. Apart from not stopping the pain, some of the patients had to drop out of the study because they experienced severe side effects after taking cannabis. Some of them complained about fatigue, dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, and vomiting.
Every human being has this chemical substance called cannabinoids in their endocannabinoid system. The substance works on regulating so many functions in the human body including appetite, sleep, inflammation, and pain. Marijuana is classified as cannabinoids because it is made up of THC and CBD. The THC in marijuana makes people high among other things. The CBD is the part of cannabis that is now legal in the United States and it doesn’t make people feel
According to the authors, the review was credible because it was free of high-risk bias. However, more research needs to be done on the role of cannabis in treating cancer patients. For now, however, the researchers are certain that cannabis is not a game-changer when it comes to pain management.
